Sponsorship Supports Government Efforts to Nurture Vocational Skills of Local Young Talent

Air Products San Fu, subsidiary of world-leading industrial gases company Air Products (NYSE: APD), recently sponsored the welding contest at Taiwan’s Vocational Skills Competition for the fourth year running. As with the previous three years, the company will also sponsor the shielding gases used during the one-year training of Taiwan’s representatives for the international WorldSkills Competition.
Organized annually by Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor since 1968, the Vocational Skills Competition is the largest vocational skills development and education event in Taiwan. This year’s competition took place on 15-19 August, with over 700 participants competing in 47 categories, including welding. Open to contestants aged 21 years or under, the Vocational Skills Competition offers young talent a valuable opportunity to hone their vocational skills and gain experience for their professional development. The top three winners in each category will be eligible to compete for the chance to represent Taiwan at the 45th WorldSkills Competition, to be held in Kazan, Russia, in 2019.
